New Three-Row Volkswagen SUV Unveiled

Volkswagen has unveiled a new three-row and seven-seater SUV. The SUV is named the new Tayron and is coming as a replacement for the Tiguan All Space. The Tayron is bigger, more spacious, and more powerful than the Tiguan All Space. The new Tayron has a modern exterior design, a rich comforting interior, and more tech features. Volkswagen revealed the Tayron for the international market and bookings have opened for the car.

In the international market, the Volkswagen Tayron gets four engine options: a petrol plug-in hybrid, a mild-hybrid petrol, a pure petrol, and a diesel – with many power outputs.

In India, the Volkswagen Tayron could get a 2-litre TSI engine, paired with 4Motion AWD. It could also offer a 1.5-litre TSI, 2-litre TSI, and 2-litre TDI.

The Volkswagen Tayron is Volkswagen’s one of the most luxurious cars with rich interior design and new tech upgrades. It gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. It also gets a panoramic sunroof, a 15-inch head-up display, wireless Apple Carplay, Android Auto, lane-change and lane-keep assist, cruise control, 700W Harman Kardon sound system, massage seats, heated and ventilated seats, and several more features.

The new Volkswagen Tayron comes with an ADAS suite which will be provided in India during its launch in the country.

The new Volkswagen Taron is 4, 735mm long, 1,859mm wide, and 1,682mm tall. On the exterior front, it gets LED headlamps, a full-width LED light bar, and illuminated logos at the front and rear.

The Volkswagen Tayron has already been launched in the international market and deliveries are expected to begin from March 2025.

In India, the Volkswagen Tayron will be launched by the end of 2025.

The upcoming Volkswagen Tayron will be priced somewhere between Rs 38 lakh – Rs 42 lakh, ex-showroom price in India.

The top trim of the new Volkswagen Tayron might be priced somewhere around Rs 52 lakh, on-road price in Mumbai.

Volkswagen Tayron rivals

The upcoming Volkswagen Tayron rivals a lot of seven-seater cars in the three-row SUV segment.

Volkswagen Tayron directly rivals the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, Hyundai Tucson, and Nissan X-Trail.

Jeep recently launched the new updated Jeep Meridian whereas Nissan launched their new SUV the X-Trail in their line-up. The Nissan X-Trail is an excellent car. But it is overly priced in India. The Nissan X-Trail Mild Hybrid AT is priced at Rs 60 lakh, on-road price in Mumbai.

Volkswagen’s partner company, Skoda is also launching the new facelifted Kodiaq in India in 2025 where MG Gloster is coming in with a major facelift in 2025.

The main competition in the three-row SUV segment would be between the MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, and the Volkswagen Tayron. All three cars would be priced at the same price and all three are coming in 2025 with new tech upgrades and modern interior and exterior design.
