New Mercedes Benz S-Class Launched In India

The S-Class is Mercedes Benz’s flagship sedan and one of the most popular sedans internationally. The S-Class limousine offers unparalleled luxury, comfort, and a driving experience. Mercedes Benz has launched the new S-Class in India. The limousine is launched with an introductory price of Rs 2.17 crore, ex-showroom India.

The S-Class is known as W223 and V223 for the long-wheelbase version. India gets the LWB (long-wheelbase version).

Mercedes India will launch the Maybach variant of the S-Class later.

New Mercedes Benz S-Class Exterior

The new S-Class gets a redesigned front bumper, a new chrome grille with three horizontal blades, a larger air intake, pop-out door handles, and wraparound LED tail lights. The new S-Class also comes with a new ‘Digital Light’ LED headlight. Mercedes Benz has also launched the AMG trim in India. Mercedes S-Class AMG gets more aggressive look and sportier glance at the front.

The New Mercedes Benz S-Class gets five exterior paint schemes: Emerald Green, Anthracite Blue, Designo Diamond White, Onyx Black, and Rubellite Red.

New Mercedes Benz S-Class Interior

The S-Class limousine is profoundly renowned for its luxury and features inside the cabin. In the inner, the new S-Class gets two new upholstery colour options: Macchiato Beige or Sienna Brown Nappa leather upholstery.

The new S-Class comes with Mercedes Benz’s new 12.8-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system which is accompanied by a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. The new OLED touchscreen operates the latest Mercedes MBUX system (NTG7) and ropes in features like facial, voice, and fingerprint recognition. This system has 320GB of storage and 16GB of RAM, this should confirm that it stays snappy for the foreseeable future.

The new S-Class gets 64 colours ambient active lighting options, massaging seats up front, a premium Burmester 4D surround sound system. At the rear, the new S-Class comes with a bench-style seat that has electric adjustment for the outer seats. Passengers in the rear seat can adjust the leg-rest and massage function electronically as well. It also gets a chauffeur package that adds co-driver seat adjustment from the rear, rear seat entertainment touchscreens, and a central tablet controller for various in-car functions.

New Mercedes Benz S-Class Powertrain

The new Mercedes Benz S-Class comes in petrol and diesel variants. Both engines get Mercedes Benz’s 4Matic all-wheel drive system and a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The S 400d diesel variant is powered by OM656 in-line 6-cylinder, engine that produces 330hp and a notable 700Nm of torque.

The S 450d petrol variant is powered by an in-line 6-cylinder, turbocharged unit, that produces 367hp and 500Nm.

New Mercedes Benz S-Class Rivals

The new Mercedes Benz S-Class directly rivals the likes of Audi’s flagship sedan Audi A7 and BMW’s flagship sedan BMW 7.
