New Mercedes Benz S-Class Is Locally Assembled

Mercedes Benz India has launched the new ‘Made in India’ S-Class limousine. The S-Class is now locally assembled at Mercedes Benz India’s Pune plant. Besides the S-Class limousine, Mercedes Benz is locally assembling several cars at their Pune Chakan Plant. The prices of S-Class limousines have gone down significantly as the car is now locally assembled instead of getting fully imported.

New Locally Assembled S-Class

Mercedes Benz has launched the locally assembled S-Class in India at an introductory price of Rs 1.57 crore for the diesel variant and Rs 1.62 crore for the petrol engine.

Earlier, Mercedes Benz had launched the S-Class first edition and it was a fully imported model. The fully imported S-Class was priced at Rs 2.17 crore for the S 400D and Rs 2.19 crore for the S 450. Now with the locally assembled S-Class, there is a massive price reduction of 60 lakh for the diesel variant and 55 lakhs for the petrol engine.

Mercedes Benz India has witnessed a massive jump in the bookings of the new locally assembled S-Class. The S-Class is Mercedes’s flagship sedan and a dream car for many. Now with the prices going down, the S-Class is enjoying healthy demand in India. The deliveries of the new locally assembled S-Class have commenced. Mercedes Benz India has said that there is a waiting period of four to five months, not just for the new locally assembled S-Class but for every Mercedes car.

However, the new locally assembled S-Class gets fewer features and tech upgrades compared to the S-Class First Editon. The new S-Class is powered by six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

The locally assembled S-Class retains the same engine used in the fully imported S-Class. Besides a few new features, the locally assembled S-Class gets the same features as the fully imported S-Class.

Mercedes Benz India is locally assembling the GLS, GLE, GLC SUVs, E-Class, C-Class Sedans and other cars. The German car manufacturer is also locally assembling electric and hybrid cars at its Pune Plant.
