New Mercedes Benz GLC Launched In India

The GLC SUV is Mercedes Benz India’s highest-selling car in India. The GLC and E-Class enjoy a huge fan following in India because both Mercedes cars are not excessively priced. Mercedes Benz has launched the all-new second-generation GLC in India with an introductory price of Rs 73.5 lakh, ex-showroom, India.

New Mercedes Benz GLC

The new Mercedes Benz GLC made its global debut last year. It has launched in India at Rs 73.5 for the 300 4Matic petrol engine and Rs 74.5 lakh for the 220d 4Matic diesel engine. Both engines get a 48V mild-hybrid engine.

The new Mercedes Benz GLC comes with a new exterior design, new interior design, and new upgraded features. Mercedes Benz India has said that they have already received over 1,800 bookings for the new GLC. Deliveries of the same will commence from next week.

New Mercedes Benz GLC Powertrain

The GLC gets two trims and two engine options, petrol and diesel.

The petrol variant is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 258hp and 400Nm of torque while the diesel variant is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 197hp and 440Nm of torque. Both engines come paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and Mercedes Benz’s 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. Both engines are mated with a 48V mid-hybrid system.

New Mercedes Benz GLC Exterior

The new GLC is longer than before. It measures 4,716mm in length, has a wheelbase of 2,888mm, and is 1.890 in width. The new GLC has a boot space of 620 litres.

The new GLC is more stylish than its outgoing model. It gets a new larger grille with a giant three-pointed Mercedes star logo. It gets new headlights connected to the grille. It also gets new 19-inch alloy wheels. It also gets new taillights similar to the Mercedes Benz C-Class. It also gets new stylish rear bumpers completed in a chrome finish.

New Mercedes Benz GLC Interior

The main highlight of the GLC is the new giant infotainment system and a new dashboard, similar to the C-Class. It now gets an 11.9-inch portrait-style touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The HVAC buttons and other control buttons are now connected to the touchscreen. It has features such as ventilated and heated seats, seat memory functions, 64-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and more.

However, the new GLC misses out on an ADAS Suite. But gets plenty of safety features such as blind spot assist, active lane keep assist, attention assist, active parking sensors, active brake assist, seven airbags, front and rear sensors, and more.
