New Maruti Suzuki Coupe SUV Unveiled

Maruti Suzuki has launched a new Coupe SUV in their Indian car line-up. This morning Maruti Suzuki launched the new Fronx SUV with an introductory price of Rs. 7.46 lakh, ex-showroom for the base model. The new Fronx is based on Maruti Suzuki’s highest-selling hatchback Baleno. The new Fronx gets a 1.0-liter turbo Bossterjet engine and is available in a total of 12 variants. Fronx is over 1 lakh more expensive than the Baleno hatchback.

The new Fronx gets five variants: Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, Zeta, and Alpha. It gets seven exterior paint schemes: Arctic White, Earthern Brown, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Celestial Blue, and Grandeur Grey. Dual paint options are available too. The new Fronx is locally assembled in India.

The new Fronx comes with a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine that was discontinued by Maruti Suzuki long ago. Fronx is the only Maruti Suzuki car in India with a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine that produces 100hp and 147Nm and is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Maruti Suzuki claims a mileage of 21.50 km/l on the manual variant and 20.01 km/l on the automatic transmission with the new Fronx.

Maruti Suzuki is also offering a 90hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that is currently being used in several brand’s cars. This engine comes with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT automatic option.

It also gets rear skid plates, red inserts for the front and rear bumpers, side skid plates, and side moldings.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx rivals

The new Maruti Suzuki Fronx directly rivals several compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Tata Punch.

The new Fronx also rivals two new compact SUVs from Kia and Skoda, the Syros and the Kylaq.

Skoda’s new compact SUV Kylaq is a bit more expensive than the higher trim of Fronx. But, Kylaq is an excellent car with a modern and classy design and offers a lot of new features.

Kia’s new SUV Kia Syros has a strange exterior design. But it offers a lot of tech features, the interior is modern and is more spacious than any other compact SUV.
