Volkswagen India has also confirmed that the Virtus sedan and the Taigun SUV will receive a facelift in 2026.
Volkswagen India recently launched the new Virtus GT Line and Virtus GT Plus Sports variants in the existing Virtus line-up. The company also launched Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sports variants in the existing Taigun line-up.
The Volkswagen Virtus is inspired by the modular MQB A0 IN platform, which has been developed for the Indian market by Volkswagen. The MQB A0 IN platform also helps the Volkswagen Taigun SUV, Skoda Slavia sedan, and the Skoda Kushaq SUV. All the cars get two engine options: 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol in manual or automatic gearbox.
Upcoming Volkswagen Virtus and Volkswagen Taigun
The new and facelifted Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun will only be launched in mid-2026. Volkswagen plans to launch both cars with the ADAS suite. Both vehicles will continue their 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engine options.
The new Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun will come with a bit of cosmetic change, new exterior and interior design, tech upgrades, and new features. The electric variant of Virtus is ruled out.

Before the new Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun, buyers in India would see the new three-row SUV by Volkswagen.
