Indian car manufacturer Mahindra has finally launched the new Thar Roxx. Thar Roxx is the 5 door and bigger version of the Mahindra Thar SUV. The five-door Thar Roxx is just 1.64 lakh more expensive than the three-door Thar. The new five-door Thar Roxx has been launched with an introductory price of Rs 12.99 lakh for the entry-level MX1 petrol variant and Rs 13.99 lakh for the entry-level diesel one.

New Mahindra Thar Roxx engine
The entry-level variant of the new Thar Roxx comes with a 162hp, 330Nm, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 152hp, 330Nm, 2.2-litre diesel engine, both paired with a manual gearbox. Mahindra Thar Roxx is fortified with a brake locking diff, has a water-wading depth of 650mm, and approach and departure angles of 41.3 degrees and 36.1 degrees, respectively. It has Zip and Zoom drive modes, and terrain drive modes: snow, sand, and mud.
It gets an off-road cruise control system that can be initiated between 2.5kph and 30kph, it allows the Roxx to make extremely tight turns by locking the rear inner wheel based on the steering direction.
New Mahindra Thar Roxx exterior
The front of the new five-door Thar Roxx is similar to the three-door Thar. However, it gets a new grille design that’s divided into six, double-stacked slots. It also receives C-shaped Daytime Running Lamps – higher variants are expected to get LED fog lamps. The new Thar Roxx comes with chunky wheel arches and stylish 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels for the higher variants, while mid variants will likely get 18-inch alloys.

The interior of New Thar Roxx is quite different from the interior of three-door Thar. It now has a dual-tone theme with beige perforated leatherette seats and a dark brown dashboard with some contrast bits. It has a new 10.25-inch screen for infotainment and instrumentation duties on the higher trims, cruise control, a rear seat armrest, an auto-dimming IRVM, all four power windows, automatic climate control, a sliding front armrest, ambient and footwell lighting, a cooled glove box, a remote fuel opening setup, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and wireless smartphone charging.
It also receives a push-button start, driver’s seat height adjustment, 60:40 split-folding rear bench seats, rear AC vents, and a rear USB-C port. The higher variant gets a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch alloys, a powered 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, a 9-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system, ventilated front seats, a cooled glove box, a front camera and 360-degree cameras, a blind spot monitor, and power-folding ORVMs.
