Land Rover has finally unveiled the new Defender Octa. Land Rover claims that the new Defender Octa is the most powerful, most extreme, and capable variant in the Defender 4×4 line-up globally. Unlike the standard Defender that comes in 90, 110, and 130 body styles, the Defender Octa will only feature in the 110-body style.

The new Land Rover Defender Octa made its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
In India, Defender Octa is launched with an introductory price of Rs 2.65 crore, ex-showroom. The Edition One, which will be available through the first year of production, will be priced from Rs 2.85 crore, ex-showroom.

The new Defender Octa gets a 4.4-litre BMW-derived twin-turbocharged mild-hybrid unit, producing 626bhp and 750Nm of torque (800Nm in launch mode). It can sprint from 0 to 96kph in a claimed 3.8 seconds with over 2510kg weight.

The new Defender Octa gets flared arches, exclusive alloy wheels, and a loftier ride, the Octa stands out from the standard Defender with a new, more open grille design and a diamond-shaped Octa badge on its C-pillar. It also comes with a gloss black roof and tailgate.
In the inner, the Defender Octa is treated with new performance seats with a 3D-knit texture, an integrated headrest, an 11.4-inch infotainment screen, a center-console fridge, a seamless finish, and Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather as standard.
Defender Octa gets several exterior paint schemes: Petra Copper, Faroe Green, Carpathian Grey, and Charente Grey. Defender Octa is available in a Matte finish too.

Defender Octa rivals
The Land Rover Defender Octa directly rivals the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG. However, the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG is over a crore more expensive than the Land Rover Defender Octa Edition One.
