The Honda City is one of India’s most popular and highest-selling mid-size sedans. For the last several decades, the Honda City has been the first choice for several customers. Now, Honda has launched the new facelifted City in India with an introductory price of Rs 11.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
New Honda City
There are no major changes in the new Honda City compared to the outgoing model. It just has a few cosmetic changes and a new exterior paint scheme. The new Honda City has priced from Rs 11.49 lakh for the entry-level variant and goes up to Rs 20.39 lakh for the top variant, both prices ex-showroom.
Honda India has introduced a new entry-level ‘V’ variant in the new Honda City.
New Honda City Powertrain
The new Honda City misses out on the 1.5-litre diesel engine. It now only comes with a petrol engine. The Honda City is powered by a 121hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 126hp, Atkinson Cycle 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid.
The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or transmission or an automatic transmission. Whereas the 126hp, Atkinson Cycle 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid is paired with an eCVT transmission.
Honda City claims a fuel efficiency of 17.8kpl for manual transmission and 18.4kpl for automatic transmission. The Hybrid claims a fuel efficiency of 27.13kpl.
New Honda City Exterior
The new Honda City gets a few minor changes in the exterior. The front bumper gets tweaked and there is a new chrome bar on the front grille. It also gets new alloy wheels. In the rear, the Honda City now gets a sportier spoiler and newly designed bumpers. Rest the car is the same as the outgoing model.
Honda is now offering a new exterior paint scheme in the Honda City: Obsidian Blue Pearl.
New Honda City Interior, Features
Like the exterior, there are no major changes inside the new Honda City. However, it now has several new features.
The new Honda City comes equipped with ADAS Suite. The ADAS Suite is available in Hybrid and petrol variants. Hona City manual transmission cars will also have the ADAS Suite. Earlier, only automatic transmission cars sued to get ADAS Suite.
The top variants of the new Honda City get features like wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a sunroof, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, ambient lighting, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, and six airbags among others.
New Honda City Price and Rivals
The higher variant of the new Honda City is the ZX CVT 2024 (Petrol) which is priced at Rs 19.38 lakh, on-road price in Mumbai.
The new Honda City continues to rival the likes of Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
