New BMW 7 Series Unveiled

BMW India has introduced the new generation BMW 7 Series in India. The BMW 7 Series is the brand’s flagship limousine sold worldwide. BMW has launched the new BMW 7 Series in India at a price tag of Rs 1.70 crore, ex-showroom, India.

New BMW 7 Series

The new BMW 7 Series comes in a single petrol variant in India. The new BMW 7 Series comes with a new exterior design, upgraded tech features, and a new interior. BMW India has started the bookings and deliveries are slated to commence from January. Currently, BMW 7 Series is available only in petrol option but BMW India has said that they will add the diesel option to the line-up in the coming months.

In India, the BMW 7 Series will only be available in the LWB variant (long wheelbase).

New BMW 7 Series Powertrain

As mentioned before, BMW India is selling the new 7 Series only in petrol option for now. But the diesel option will be introduced soon. The new BMW 7 Series is powered by a 3.0-litre, inline-six-cylinder unit that produces 380hp and 520Nm of torque. The new 7 Series comes with mild-hybrid tech and is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The new 7 Series is claimed to sprint from 0 to 100 in 5.4 seconds. The new 7 Series is the first BMW model to get revised with BMW’s CLAR platform. The new 7 Series comes with BMW’s latest Integral Active Steering system.

New BMW 7 Series Exterior

The new BMW 7 Series gets the largest BMW signature kidney grille. The giant grille shelters the entire front. The giant grille is illuminated with lights. It also gets a revised front with split LED headlights. The new BMW 7 Series now gets flush door handles with an internal touchpad and electronic mechanism. It also gets new 19-inch alloy wheels. There is an option for customers to upgrade the alloy wheels. It also gets revised LED tail lights.

New BMW 7 Series Interior

The new BMW 7 Series gets BMW’s signature curved display that is already seen in most of the BMW cars. The curved display comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen system running the latest iDrive 8 software. The front passengers are provided with touch-sensitive control buttons.

The biggest highlight of the new 7 Series is that second-row passengers are treated to a giant screen to watch films. BMW has placed a 31.3-inch, 8K ‘cinema’ screen that’s mounted on the roof and folds down. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, LED lighting on the roof, a soft door system, a 5.5-inch touchscreen on rear door pads, and ambient lighting among others.

New BMW 7 Series Price and Rivals

The new BMW 7 Series 740i M Sport (Petrol) is priced at Rs 2.15 crore, on-road price in Mumbai.

We expect the BMW 7 Series diesel variant to be priced above Rs 2.20 crore.

The new BMW 7 Series continues to rival the flagship Mercedes Benz S-Class and the flagship Audi A7.
