Audi India has launched the new Q7 with an introductory price starting at 88.66 lakh. The higher variant is priced at 97.81 lakh. The new Audi Q7 is locally assembled at Audi’s plant in Aurangabad. This is the second facelift for the current generation of Audi Q7. The first generation model of Audi Q7 was launched in India in 2015.
- Audi Q7 Premium Plus is priced at: 1.05 crore, on-road price in Mumbai
- Audi Q7 Technology is priced at: 1.16 crore, on-road price in Mumbai
- The new Q7 continues the previous 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine
- New Q7 gets a Matrix LED headlamps
The new Audi Q7 is powered by the same 3-litre V6 petrol engine with 335bhp and 500Nm. It does 0 to 100kmph in 5.6 seconds with a top speed of 250kph. The new Q7 has an 8-speed automatic gearbox and Audi’s Quattro AWD tech as standard. Audi is also offering a 2-year standard warranty on the new Audi Q7 and a 10-year complimentary roadside assistance package.
Audi Q7 exterior
There are plenty of changes on the exterior, but nothing major. The new Q7 gets new Matrix LED headlamps, an all-new grille with chrome inserts, and a new single-frame grille. The new Audi Q7 comes in five exterior paints: Glacier White, Mythos Black, Sakhir Gold, Waitomo Blue, and Samurai Grey. Honestly, the Mythos Black looks good on the Audi Q7 and gives it the proper bold look for what the Audi Q7 is known for.
Audi Q7 interior
The new Audi Q7 comes in two upholstery colors: Cedar Brown and Saiga Beige. Surprisingly basic features like ventilated seats, wireless Apple car play, and Android Auto are missing. The dashboard remains the same as the outgoing model. However, there are minor improvements in the infotainment system and instrumentation.
Audi Q7 price and rivals
The new Audi Q7 is priced more than 1 crore on-road in Mumbai. It directly rivals the BMW X5, Volvo XC90, and Mercedes GLE. But with a seven-seat configurator, Audi Q7 also rivals the BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS.
Both BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS are priced at 1.50 crores. X7 and GLS are super luxury and powerful cars offering never-ending brilliant features and comforts. But both the SUV cars are almost 40 lakh more than the Audi Q7. So, at 1.05 crore and 1.16 crore, on-road price in Mumbai, Audi Q7 Premium Plus and Technology are great buys.
Buyers can opt for the BMW X5 40i M Sport which is available at 1.30 crore, on-road in Mumbai. BMW X5 40i M Sport is a superb car for buyers looking for a sporty and comfortable SUV.
Verdict
A few years back, the Audi Q7 was quite a popular and high-selling car. Almost every corporate and business executive CEO was looking to purchase the Audi Q7. Even the cricketers and film celebrities too were interested and seen driving in the Audi Q7. But, today Audi Q7 is not a popular car any longer.
The design of the new Audi Q7 has not improved. It looks the same as it looked almost 7-8 years ago. With the new facelifted Audi Q7, Audi should have completely revised the design. In fact, the Audi Q8 is a lot better and looks better than the Audi Q7.
The new facelifted Audi Q8 was launched recently. The new Audi Q8 is priced at 1.30 crore on-road price in Mumbai. Buyers who can increase their budget by 20-25 lakh more will definitely go for the Audi Q8 than the Q7.
BMW X5 and Audi Q8 could be the better choice for buyers than the Audi Q7
