Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the much-awaited Jimny SUV in India. It is Maruti Suzuki’s most desirable SUV in India. The new Jimny has been launched with an introductory price of Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level variant and goes up to Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom) for the higher variant. The Jimny is a five-door SUV but only four passengers can comfortably adjust themselves in the car.
New Maruti Suzuki Jimny
Maruti Suzuki’s Jimny is its answer to Mahindra’s Thar. India is the first country to get a five-door version of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. The Jimny will be locally assembled at Maruti’s plant in Gurgaon. Maruti will also locally assemble Jimny that are meant to be exported to other countries. The new Jimny comes with Maruti Suzuki’s subscription program with a monthly fee of Rs 33,550.

New Maruti Suzuki Jimny Powertrain
The new Maruti Suzuki Jimny is powered by a sole 105hp, 134Nm, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that gets mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic. The Jimny gets a fuel efficiency of 16.94kpl for the manual transmission and 16.39kpl for the automatic transmission.
New Maruti Suzuki Jimny Features
The new Jimny only comes in two trims, Zeta and Alpha. The Alpha trim is a top-end trim that gets most of the features such as a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro + Infotainment system, LED headlamps, keyless entry and go, automatic climate control, cruise control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto among others. It has safety features such as hill-hold assist, ESP, and six airbags. Safety features are offered in both trims, Zeta and Alpha. The new Jimny misses out ADAS suite and sunroof.
The new Jimny comes with five exterior paint schemes and two dual-tone paint schemes. The Jimny rides on 15-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 195/80 section tires.
New Maruti Suzuki Jimny Design
The new Jimny is 3,985mm in length and with a wheelbase of 2,590mm, the Jimny five-door’s wheelbase is 340mm longer than the 3-door model. It has a width of 1,645mm and a height of 1,720mm.
Jimny directly rivals the likes of Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
