Jeep Brings New Wrangler SUV In India

The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most attractive cars out there. It is a brilliant off-road SUV that one can easily drive in the city for daily use. The Rubicon variant of the Jeep Wrangler is an excellent SUV. Now, Jeep India has brought the new updated Jeep Wrangler in India with plenty of changes and tech upgrades. The new Jeep Wrangler has been launched with an introductory price of 67.65 lakh, ex-showroom, India.

The new Jeep Wrangler comes 5 lakh more expensive than the outgoing model. It gets a new grille and new 18-inch alloy wheels for the Unlimited variant whereas the Rubicon variant gets a sports blacked-out grille with new 17-inch alloy wheels. Both the variant comes with a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 12-way powered front seats. The new Jeep Wrangler receives new safety features including the ADAS suite and more airbags.

The front of the new Jeep Wrangler remains unchanged. However, the Unlimited variant now gets it now gets black textured slots, neutral grey metallic bezels, and body-color surround with new 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Rubicon variant also gets an all-black grille and new 17-inch alloy wheels. The new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon comes with six exterior paints: Sarge Green, Bright White, Black, Granite Crystal, and Firecracker Red.

There is no major difference in the interior of the new Jeep Wrangler and the outgoing model. The new Jeep Wrangler gets new features with tech upgrades. It now has a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, 12-way powered front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and six airbags. It also gets hill descent control, hill start assists, electronic roll mitigation, dual-zone climate control, automatic headlamps, a tyre pressure monitor, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, and a camera.

Both variants of the new Jeep Wrangler are powered by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 270hp and 400Nm of peak torque and is paired with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission.

The new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited variant has been launched at a price of 67.65 lakh, ex-showroom, India whereas the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has been launched at a price of 71.65 lakh, ex-showroom, India.

The new Jeep Wrangler rivals

The Jeep Wrangler has no rivals in India directly. The Jeep Wrangler is quite expensive and not affordable for many Indians. The newly launched Mahindra Thar Roxx is a great option for buyers who do not wish to spend more. the new Mahindra Thar Roxx is priced at 25 lakhs for a higher trim, on-road price in Mumbai.

The only SUV that comes close to competing with the Jeep Wrangler, is the Land Rover Defender. But again, the Defender is more expensive than the Jeep Wrangler. The entry-level trim of Defender is priced at 1.23 crore, on-road price in Mumbai.
