Hyundai Tucson Earns 5 Star Rating At Bharat NCAP

The new generation Hyundai Tucson is one of the finest cars by Hyundai. It is sold worldwide. The Hyundai Tucson is a five-seater luxury SUV that has achieved success internationally. And, now the Hyundai Tucson has scored a five star rating at the Bharat NCAP safety rating.

It is a significant milestone for Hyundai India as the Hyundai Tucson is the first car in their Indian line-up that has scored a five star rating at the Bharat NCAP safety rating. The Hyundai Tucson underwent the test at the Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash test and earned an impressive 5-star safety rating becoming one of the safest cars in India.

The Hyundai Tucson scored 30.84 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 41 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP).

The current generation Hyundai Tucson is the fourth generation of the mid-size premium SUV. It rivals the likes of Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, and XUV 700. It is priced from Rs 27.7 lakh to Rs 34.39 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

However, the Hyundai Tucson is more expensive than its rivals. The higher trim of Tucson, the Signature 2.0 4WD AT Diesel is priced at Rs 43.36 lakh, on-road price in Mumbai. The Tucson is over 12 lakh more expensive than the higher trims of Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, and XUV 700.

The Hyundai Tucson is offered with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is powered by a four-cylinder, producing 156hp and 192Nm of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Whereas, the diesel engine is a 2.0-liter engine that produces 186hp and 416Nm of torque, which is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The current generation Hyundai Tucson is quite different from the old generation of the model. The new Tucson gets a huge dark chrome front grille with jewel-like detailing that spans the width of the nose and integrates the LED daytime running lamps. It features sharp character lines, flared wheel arches, and body cladding giving it a bold look. The car rides on an 18-inch, dual-tone alloy wheels. It also features dual T-shaped LED tail lights that are connected via an LED light bar.

The Hyundai Tucson gets a wraparound design on the dashboard and most physical buttons have been replaced with touch-sensitive controls, a four-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and HVAC controls. The features of Tucson include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, 8-speaker Bose sound system, ADAS, Alexa and Google Assistant support, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, air purifier, 64-color ambient lighting, 360-degree cameras, electric adjustment for the driver’s seat with memory function, rain-sensing wipers, reclining rear seats, connected car features, and voice commands.

The new facelifted Hyundai Tucson will be launched in 2025 in India. It has already been launched internationally.
