Hyundai i20 Facelift Launched In India

The Hyundai i20 is one of India’s favorite and highest-selling premium hatchbacks in the country. The first-generation Hyundai i20 was launched a decade ago and it is still a popular car. Now, Hyundai India has launched the new facelifted i20 and it is priced between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 11.01 lakh, ex-showroom. It now gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine as Hyundai has removed the turbo-petrol engine. It comes in a five-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The new i20 looks the same. It has minor changes as it gets a new front and rear design, a new color option for the interior, and some new features.

Hyundai i20 Facelift exterior

The new i20 Facelift gets nine exterior paint options: Amazon Grey, Titan Grey, Atlas White, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Starry Night, and dual tone paint options: Atlas White with Black roof, and Fiery Red with Black roof.

Largely, the exterior of the i20 Facelift is the same as the outgoing model. It just gets a new front and rear bumper with new LED headlamps with DRLs. The Hyundai logo has now been repositioned from the grille to the base of the bonnet and gets a new 2D design. It also gets new 16-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the new i20 Facelift is the same as the outgoing model. It gets a new dual-tone black and grey finish for the dashboard and the semi-leatherette seat upholstery on the top-spec trim. It has features such as a sunroof, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a seven-speaker Bose sound system, a wireless phone charger, revised ambient lighting, leatherette padding on the door armrests, puddle lamps with welcome function, and Hyundai’s ‘Sounds of Nature’ feature, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, all-digital instrument cluster, single-pane sunroof, and automatic climate control. It also gets 60+ connected features, OTA updates, 52 voice commands, multi-language support, several drive modes, and Type-C charging ports.

On the safety front, It gets six airbags as standard along with a reverse parking camera, automatic headlamps, ABS, EBD, ESC, hill assist control, Burglar alarm, emergency stop signal, rear parking camera, TPMS, headlamp function, automatic headlamps, and a three-point seatbelt.

The new i20 Facelift comes with a sole petrol engine – a 1.2-liter Kappa, four-cylinder naturally aspirated unit, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission. It produces 83hp with the Manual transmission 88hp with the automatic and 115Nm of peak torque. It now gets the ISG (idle stop & go) feature, which improves fuel efficiency by automatically stopping and starting the engine when needed.
