BMW’s M340i is one of the most selling luxury cars in India. It is rightly priced and isn’t overly expensive for buyers who wish to own a BMW but do not want to spend much.
The current and previous generation BMW M340i was launched in India over a year ago. Now BMW India has updated the model and launched with an introductory price of 74.9 lakh, ex-showroom. M340i is a luxury sedan car with its sports variant available. However, the new BMW M340i is 2 lakh more expensive than the outgoing model. The new BMW M340i is locally assembled at BMW’s plant in India.
The booking for the new BMW M340i has opened. Buyers can book the new BMW M340i through BMW India’s website and visit the showroom for a test drive.
New BMW M340i exterior
The new BMW M340i gets two new exterior paint options: Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red. The previous exterior paints Dravit Grey and Black Sapphire continue to be available. But there are no major or visible changes. The mechanical gear remains the same. The new BMW M340i continues to be powered by the 374hp, 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid assist – the performance and luxury sedan now gets the adaptive suspension as standard. BMW India has claimed that the new locally assembled M340i is the quickest ICE car built in India. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.4 seconds.

On the interior front, the new BMW M340i remains the same as the outgoing model. However, there are a few minor changes. The new BMW M340i gets new Vernasca leather seat covers with M stitching and what BMW calls the ‘Widescreen Curved Display’ – comprising a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster – gets the latest 8.5 operating system. In addition, the AC vents’ design has been tweaked to some extent, and they get new knobs to make adjustments.

The new BMW M340i is priced at 74.9 lakh, ex-showroom. It is 2 lakh more expensive than the outgoing BMW M340i. The BMW M340i xDrive is available at a price of 88.98 lakh, on-road price in Mumbai.

Verdict
The new BMW M340i is an excellent car. Interestingly, it appears both as a luxury car for family and a sports car when you are driving it with your friends or want to enjoy the performance.
The new BMW M340i clearly stands above the Mercedes Benz C Class and Audi S5 Sportback.
