New Toyota Hilux

The Toyota Hilux is locally assembled in India; hence the price tag is not excessive. The Toyota Hilux is launched in three variants, Standard MT, High MT, and High AT. The Toyota Hilux is locally assembled at Toyota India’s plant in Karnataka. In India, the Toyota Hilux directly rivals the Isuzu D-max V-Cross.

New Toyota Hilux Powertrain

The new Toyota Hilux is powered by a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 204hp and 420Nm. The engine comes mated with a 7-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The similar engine is used in Toyota’s Fortuner which has been India’s one of the most iconic and highest selling car for several decades. All variants of Hilux are available in 4×4 configuration in India. The Hilux is built on the same IMV platform as the Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner.

New Toyota Hilux Exterior

On the exterior front, Toyota Hilux looks like a rough super pickup truck. The front chrome grille is jointed with LED headlamps. The front bumper is stylish and resembles Toyota Fortuner. The Hilux is beefy and looks quite big from side and rear. It has 18-inch alloy wheels.

The new Toyota Hilux comes in five exterior paints: White Pearl CS, Silver Metallic, Super White, Emotional Red, and Gray Metallic.

The Hilux measures 5,325mm in length, 1,855mm in width, and 1,815mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,085mm. The Hilux is longer and wider as compared to its rival in India, the Isuzu D-Max.

New Toyota Hilux Interior

The dashboard of Hilux is different from other cars but the buttons and a few interior details resembles with Fortuner. The Hilux borrows steering wheel, touchscreen, climate control buttons, and instrument cluster from the Fortuner.

The new Hilux gets features such as wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 360-degree camera, electrochromic inside rear-view mirror, tyre angle monitor, seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, active traction control, dual-zone climate control, all-LED headlamps, daytime running lamps and turn indicators, and 8.0-inch infotainment screen.

The Toyota Hilux misses out on the ADAS Suite.
