Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) recently reported that they have achieved its best-ever H1 fiscal performance to date. The company witnessed a staggering year-on-year growth of 105 percent between April to September. JLR India sold a record 2,356 units during the period with the Land Rover Defender being the most sold car.
Defender
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has said that they have sold over 1,000 units of the Defender SUV (including all trims and variants).
The Land Rover Defender SUV currently has a five to six months of waiting period due to high demand.
Velar
The new Range Rover Velar was launched recently and it has already attracted huge bookings.
The new Range Rover Velar has received over 800 bookings in two months since the facelifted model was launched in India.
Range Rover and Range Rover Sport
The demand for Land Rover’s flagship SUV Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport is quite high. Both cars have a waiting period of over four months.
Recently, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced that they will be locally assembling Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in India instead of getting them imported from the UK.
With the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport now being manufactured in India, the prices of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have gone down significantly. The prices of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have been reduced by 40 to 50 lakh which was resulted in huge booking. Both cars are more affordable than ever.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is presently locally assembling Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar, Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover, and Range Rover Sport at their manufacturing plant in Pune.
However, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is not locally assembling their most-selling vehicle the Defender in India. The prices of Defender will see a decrease of 20 to 30 lakh if the SUV is manufactured in India.
The Land Rover Defender continues to get imported from the UK
