BMW has launched the new generation BMW M5 supercar in India. The new BMW M5 has been launched at a price of 1.99 crore, ex-showroom. The car is available at a 2.36 crore, on-road price in Mumbai. BMW India has claimed that this is the most powerful M5 in India yet. The BMW M5 2024 sprints from 0 – 100kph in just 3.5 seconds. This is the seventh generation BMW M5 that has been launched in India. The new BMW M5 can be driven in electric mode for 70 km.
The launch of the BMW M5 comes right after Mercedes Benz launched the Mercedes Benz AMG C 63 at a price of 1.95 crore, ex-showroom and 2.31 crore, on-road price in Mumbai.
The new BMW M5 is just five lakhs more expensive than the Mercedes Benz AMG C 63 and gives the bigger deal. It is more powerful and looks better than the Mercedes Benz AMG C 63.
BMW M5 exterior
The new BMW M5 borrows the similar BMW 5 series exterior look, but looks bolder, stunning, and aggressive. On the front, the grille comes up with a gloss black surround with an ‘M5’ logo in the center. It also gets signature BMW twin headlights and BMW double kidney grille which is done in gloss black. The new M5 receives redesigned front and rear wheel arches, along with more noticeable sills. The new BMW M5 does not come with a panoramic sunroof. However, buyers can opt for a panoramic sunroof which will result in an extra 50kg of additional weight.
On the rear, the M5 reprofiled bumper comes up with a two-section diffuser that is gloss black-finished quad exhausts highlighting the sedan’s muscular look. The new M5 M5 comes with 20-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels.
BMW M5 interior
There is no major in the interior of the BMW M5 and the regular BMW 5 series sedan. However, the major highlights are the flat-bottomed M-specific steering wheel, M-spec seats with an illuminated M5 logo, and M-specific ambient lighting. The new M5 also offers a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround music system with 18 speakers. The interior also includes a head-up display, wireless charging, four-zone automatic climate control, a 14.9-inch touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Buyers in India would be interested in the new BMW M5 only for its performance and engine power. It gets a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine with a top speed of 250kmph as standard.
BMW 5 series, M5 and I5
BMW 5 series has always been a chauffeur-driven car in India. The BMW 5 series directly rivals the Audi A6 and Mercedes Benz E Class. The BMW 5 series was launched in July 2024 in India and the new Mercedes Benz E Class was launched recently. The exterior and rear design of the new BMW 5 series received a mixed response from buyers. Whereas the Mercedes Benz E Class has received a super response. But BMW’s I5 and M5 are going to be game-changer for BMW in India.
The BMW M5 and the electric BMW I5 have received positive responses.
